ok heres the deal we have a 91 rs 305 TBI and 700r4, motor and trans is out of a 88 t/a. when you put it in drive it has no power and when u touch the gas it dies, i've switched pcms and everything still does the same. the speedometer doesnt work at all, the wires were cut but since then have been reconnected, ive changed the VSS buffer and still nothing, how do i test the VSS, and could the stalling be b/c the torque converter is locked up, need help fast its drivin me nuts. ive also changed the throttle body off another motor that i know ran but it didnt help, i had the car running fine with another motor so i know the fuel pump must be good, ive also put a new fuel filter on it as well.

 

vacuum leak? stuck open egr valve. tcc staying engaged will stall motor. how does motor run w/tarns in park?

 

it will rev just fine in park or neutral

 

if lock up in engaged it will kill the motor in any gear (except park or neutral) even without giving it gas. a plugged cat will also give the motor now power. check the map sensor also.

 

map is ok i think and there is no cat
