Engine: 355/195AFR/SR/219CAM/1.6
Transmission: TH700R4/Vigilante
Axle/Gears: D44/3.45
No overdrive in 86 Firebird !!! h e l p
Hi guys ...this is the problem
we have a problem with a 86'Bird and we replaced the solenoid that activates the "4th gear" OD , We tested it following the Chilton's book procedures and with the ECM every thing its fine!
So maybe we think that some valve its stuck in there ...we are rollin at 60 mph still in third gear !!!
here there its pic of the solenioid but we are not sure if we connected that thing on the right side...what's that ?

what trans? that looks like a unniversal lockup solenoid. if so i don't think it will work for a 700 or 4l60E
