Cant get TC to loc up need some info
I have a large cam in my 355 and i cant all the vacum i need to get the torque converter to lock up in 4th gear. Will driving around town in drive instead of overdrive still toast my tranny or will i be all right?

Driving around town shouldn't toast your tranny, especially not if you have an extra tranny cooler. They usually don't lock up until 45 anyway. You should be ok, but maybe you can adjust the vacuum switch, or even fab a switch directly connected to throttle opening instead.

I didnt know the tranny still locked up in drive is it ever gear or just over 45mph? I thought they on locked in overdrive. I am running a cooler and the tranny dosent get over 180 so I think im safe for now. I will have to try to adjust the vac switch as low as it will go and see what happens. This is what I get for ahve a big cam no brakes and no lock up what a pita.

Ok, temperature is the real killer so I think you are safe.
Some lock up only in OD and others lock up in 3rd as well. That depends on the application but I not familiar enough to say up front which is which.
Hehe, you cant have it all.. Good luck!
