Opinions on my Edge converter?
I've heard nothing but good about edge converters so I ordered one. Its a 9.5in Pro-Edge 4200-4400 stall. I was disappointed when I opened the box because the front of the converter has scratches and gawges all over it. Its probably just cosmetic but I have concerns about putting anything in my car that looks that way. Makes me wonder how the parts inside look that I can't see. I contacted them and this was the response.
ALL 245mm impellers are from GM application. The front wheel drive hub is removed and then the impeller is acid washed and furnace brazed.
All after market converter manufactures will use impellers that were once in OE application. The rarer the impeller, the higher chance that it will show marks, or scratches in the after market after life. The #6 impeller used on your build is the rarest impeller.
What are your guys thoughts on this, should I be concered about it? I've attached a few pics.
