Need help to ID a part on a T56
Just swapped a T56 into my third gen. It came with a plug in one of the threaded holes. I attached a picture of a unit that has a sending unit or solenoid or whatever the part is that I need.
can someone please tell me what this part is?

That is the skip-shift solenoid that makes the trans shift from 1st to 4th gear at low rpms. Only the LT1/LS1 computers have that "feature", so you will not have a problem with it in a thirdgen. Just leave it alone and dont worry about it.
