I'm collecting the pieces and preparing to swap a manual T5 upgraded, or a T56 transmission into my 88 RS. I have a 454-375 HP, already installed with a 350 TH transmission. I have several questions and hope someone can help.
Will the stock T5 or T56 bellhousing bolt to the 454?
Will i need to change the pilot bearing when using a 454 flywheel?
Will a T5 or T56 bolt to a stock 454 bell housing? Are the bell housings the same depth and bolt patterns front and back? Or are the bell housings specific to the T5 and T56?
Will the stock cross member work? Or is there a special modification for a big block?
Any other observastions for this swap is appreciated. By the way, this is a great site. I've found a lot of knowledable people here.

Not sure what upgrades have been done to the T5 but it probably won't be enought to handle the torque of a 454. I'd say go with a T56 or TKO.
