Clutch is slipping!
Clutch is slipping!
Hi guys!
I've got an '85 Firebird with a 305 and a five-speed 'box.
I was on the highway the last few days and noticed the clutch is slipping. First gear doesn't have the pull it used to and in fifth, I can hit the throttle, but the engine revs aren't being transferred to the wheels. Looks like the clutch is going.
I was just wondering if you guys had any advice about replacing the clutch. For the most part, my car's 100% stock so I'd kind of like to keep it that way, but I was wondering if there were any alternatives you think I should or must consider!
Since I just had to replace the starter motor today, I'm looking for something cost effective, too. I'm a cheap bugger.
I'd appreciate any of your advice. Thanks, guys!
