well the other day i decide to squeeze some extremely thick oil into my t5 manual. well i decide to look to my certified haynes manual(p.s. worst manual u could ever buy for ur car) and i tells me to remove a bolt to add the oil, telling me the other bolts held the 5th and rev shifter fork. well guess wat THE BOOK WAS WRONG and i ended up breaking my shifter fork. so im guessing mabe this thing would be easy to replace. well with the borg warner transmission they dont build shifter forks anymore and GM only has AND I QUOTE: 20 vintage shifter forks left in stock anywere in the world. well none of the used part stores want to tear down a transmission to give me the fork. so i find out that the 86-93 chevy s10 series (yes s10 is wat i said) borg warner will allow me to use fork off their old transmissions and put it into my t5. so as long as u dont use a s10 transmission in ur car the parts are all compatible with any t5 borg warner tranny..........why cant i ever break a part that isnt considered an antique.

How many 5th gear shift forks do you want??????? where i work we have lots of them. mustang, camaro, s10 th gear shift forks are all the same. it is the shift rail that is different lengths. your picture is to far out to see what is actually broke.

 

well what i meant was that since gm is considering the fork to be vintage its costing me almost 100$ to replace it and i have to wait almost 2 weeks for the part to come in. i know that there is alot of shifter forks out there but no one wants to part out there trannys so that i can get my part. i actualy found a s10 tranny that was cracked and was no longer usable but the used parts dealer still only wanted me to but the whole tranny because he didnt want to seperate the parts.

the pic realy doesnt have the broken fork in it. to tell u the truth i realy had no purpose in putting the pic up ther since the fork is already out of it but i will put a pic of the broken fork on later on.
