Diff Swap

I have a 2001 camaro ss diff and was wondering what it takes to put it in my 91 rs or does it not fit.

Re: Diff Swap

It will fit the only issue you will have is if it has traction control and you will have to make the E-brake work.

Re: Diff Swap

And that the fourth gen diff is about 2" wider on each side so your factory rims will stick out.

There's no strength difference between the 2001 and your 91 diff.

Yep -- for what its worth though, that rear end from that car will have the Zexel/Torsen differential in it, which is a pretty good unit. Its a LSD, but since theres no clutches, it lasts considerably longer and is a bit stronger than the normal LSD in the 7.5".... that part would definitely be worth keeping even if you dont use the whole rear end.
