No OD 700r4

Just installed a Pro-built street/strip kit with Transgo 700 -1&2 kit.
Shifts good from 1st thru 3rd, but will not go into OD. Have abt 30 miles on tranny so the air should be worked out by now. Fluid level good. TV cable set correctly. Removed 4th apply piston and D-seal looks good. Applied air press to 4th apply piston via the drainback hole on pan rail and cavity holds press. Also, I can see the 2-4 band applying.

Called Trans-go and they want me to install the "stick only" clips on the governer weights to provide full governer press and run at 45 mph while manually shifting between 3rd and OD. I'll be doing that tomorrow.

In the mean time, does anyone have any ideas on what else I can check before I re-install the pan and filter?
Anyone have pics of hydraulic schematics that show what passages have press during OD?

Thx!

Re: No OD 700r4

I always wanted to ask...
How will act the trans if prepped WITHOUT the additional operations needed on the Transgo instruction for the STICK ONLY option, if the governor will be blocked?
It will perform as a full manual?
If Yes, why the STICK ONLY additional operations (additional holes on the VB, different holes on the separator plate.. different check *****) are required?

For sure, with the blocked governor the trans will not shift itself...

From what I understand, with the governer springs installed, tranny will start out in 3 and shift to 4th. Thats why I think the other stuff needs to be done, to allow all gears to be used.

Anyway, I'm now suspecting low line press my be the problem. Ordered a press gauge from Bowtie Overdrives today for ~$40 shipped. Looks like a decent unit for the money. Comes with 7ft Goodyear hose and a 90 deg fitting to connect to tranny.
Also found that if I goose it in reverse, the tranny shutters. If I loosen the TV cable a little, it slips.

Re: No OD 700r4

What I wanted to say, is that with the governor with the clip used in the "stick Only" option, the trans will never shift on its own from 1 to 2 from 2 to 3 from 3 to 4 and trom 4 to 3 , 3to 2 and 2 to 1. At any speed and at any rpm!
