What TQ stall speed would you use with these specs?

I need recomendations on torque converter stall speed.
I use the car mostly at the 1/8 mi track, I do drive in on the street very often, I drive it on the freeway sometimes (3 or 4 hours drive).

383 TFS 23* 195 heads 10.7:1 comp
230-236 @.050 112*
HSR 58mm TB
30# injectors
Custom chip
Built 700r4
4:11 rear gear
275 45 17 Nitto drag radials
Current vigilante 2800 stall
The problem I have now is that the converter I have now, won't let me rev up the engine past 2200 RPMs before launch. I would like to be able to launch around 2800-3000 RPMs

I'm planning on sending the TC to Presicion industries to have them change the stall speed, but, I want to make sure what I need.

I was thinking on something like 3400-3500 stall, but, I don't know if that would be too much for the street and highway.

Thanks in advance for the input

no more than 3000. your et will proably slow down and your building more heat in the tranny.

Just dont confuse brake stall with the stall speed they are not the same a 3000 stall while it will flash to 3000 at a 1 to 1 ratio would likle not brake stall much past 2000-2200 unless you have a trans brake stall is based on a 1 to 1 ratio when you are brake stalling you are using a 3.08 to 1 gearing .

Re: What TQ stall speed would you use with these specs?

If that is true, that is why my TC brake stall is in the 2000-2200 range, even though the advertised stall speed is 2800 RPM. That makes sense.

I called presicion Industries and one guy recomended a stall change to my converter, he said 3200 would be fine for my combo.

So what would the break stall be for the 3200 stall TC ? Arround 2400-2600 RPM?

Your stall speed is going to depend on how good your brakes are. If you can hold the car stopped at WOT your stall speed will be close to 3200 RPM or the same as a transbrake. The problem you have is your brakes cannot hold your car it WOT, based on your current combo I would guess your stall speed would go up by 400 RPM. What does your current combination flash to when you floor it right after launch? The flash point will be very close to your stall speed.
