Ring and pinion question

All i know about my rear is it is a g80 rear and a 2 series carrier i was wondering if these gears would work for my car without any modification of anything http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1∂=RMG%2D4900071&N=700+4294925134+4294839047+4294918962+4294791217+4294901296+4294895863+115&autoview=sku
these 2:73 gears just dont cut it for me lol

Re: Ring an pinon question

Looks like they are made for the 2-series carrier and will work. However; I would stay away from the Richmound gear. Reason, they cut the gear teeth for racing applications and are quite loud on street car.

Re: Ring an pinon question

ight so just dont get richmond then but any other that say for use in the 2 series is ok? when is say for use in the 3:23 and numericly higher carriers dose that mean really lower numbers or what?

Also would it really be bad on it cause the only ones through summit (only place i like to buy from) are richmond.

Re: Ring an pinon question

If you are going to stay with your 2-series carrier you HAVE to either go 3.08 or lower OR get the "thick gear" (like the one you're looking at from Summit) that works with the 2-series carrier. If you want to run a regular 3.23 or taller gear, you have to switch to a 3-series carrier.
