I jst got my new bowtie overdrives stage 2 700r4 installed,and the car shakes! vibrates and resonates the whole car,Feels like the drive shaft is off balence,it wont go above 4000 rpm before it shifts,im guessing cause the knock sensors are retarding the timing,the tail shaft they sent me was wrong so i swapped it with my O.E. shaft,I check all the drive shaft bolts,everything seems to be fine,but this car does not feel smooth like it did with the stock 700r4,WTF!!!! any advice is appreciated thx.

I had a similar problem with my buddys GMC 1500 with a 4l60e, he bought a upgraded tranny, threw it in, and turned out he needed a bigger torque converter.

I doubt it has to do with anything electrical.

did u put the driveshaft on wrong?

 

Remove the tail housing, Use a flash light and look into the rear of the case where the output shaft goes through, about 1/2 inch in there you should see a bushing around the tail shaft. See if its there I have seen vibration after a build cause by its absence. Just something to check

 

Can you put a drive shaft in wrong?

I was thinking maybe bad u joints, but before this install it was smooth.

And ill pull it a part tomorrow and look for that bushing,Ill take a pic,post it you can tell me whats up.

Your knock sensor will have nothing to do with the 4000 rpm shifting problem, thats more to do with the TV cable or if there is something else going on.
