corvette servo?
Im sending my car in next week to get the tranny rebuilt (finally) but what I was wondering is, I've heard of using a Part for the 700r4, from the vette's that improves my shifts. What exactly is it?? also how much is it????

Re: corvette servo?
the servo you are referring to is what applies the band in 2nd and 4th gears on the 700r4. the servo more commonly known as the vette servo( a lot of z28's had them also) have a larger apply area than the factory one in most 700r4's which helps the holding power of the band. they are a relatively cheap upgrade and good especially if you are rebuilding your tranny in the process.

With your 305, just put it in there if your transmission is showing some wear. And by that I mean over 85K miles on it.

Re: corvette servo?
You might also check out a "super servo" supposedly yet more apply area than a vette one... as far as a shift kit, id put one in, but unless you love it kicking you in the back every time it hits second, id go with the RV style over the street/strip one. also be aware that a built tranny WILL eat your old tranny/torque arm bushings, energy susp[ension has polys for 18$ for the tq arm, and 22$ or so for the tranny, should you go all out for a stock motor? My answer would be yes. Once the trannys shiftin firm and actin right you'll want more power eventually, and you'll already have the tranny for it

Re: corvette servo?
I don't recommend the Energy Suspension bushings for the tranny. They are great bushings every where else but if you put them on the trans mounts, you'll feel every little vibration in the drivetrain in your butt. They are simply too hard (opposite of squishy). Stay with the OEM stockers.

i have the ES bushings on my tranny mount and torque arm mount. it's not to bad unless you are looking for a "cadillac" ride
