overdrive jerk
got a 2004r and when i'm in overdrive doing 60-70 and I let off and coast I start to get a herky jerky foward-bakwards jerking. I know overdrive will do this at slower speeds becasue the OD was only meant for freeway not around town, but should this be happening when coasting at these speeds?

Re: overdrive jerk
i have the same problem except it's at all speeds. from what i've read it is probably the torque converter lock-up. havnt checked it out yet though to be sure.

Re: overdrive jerk
Actually I did a ton of reading today on this. I understand manuals and clutches, I just never read up on how a TC works. Now that I have and read about the lockup, I get it. I also called the shop that put my TC in, he said it just sounds like it's locking too early, at too low of an RPM and I'll need to bring it in to have him adjust the shift points.
The reason this is happening for me is because I've changed everything. New engine, 2600rpm TC, 3.73 gears, no computer, etc, etc. So yeah, adjustments needed :-)
