Manual and Auto Speedometer Cable ?'s
Well I went to a parts store and bought a speedometer cable for my camaro, mines a 1987 sc with 350 and 700r4. On the computer they couldn't find an auto speedo cable, just the ones for the 5 speed, so I just got that one. While I had it apart I looked at the color of my gears, I have yellow and gray, with 3.73 gears and tires that are around 27". According to this site that should be close, http://www.transmissioncenter.net/sp...__va.htm#700r4. But the big problem is when I drive it reads 140 at like 70 ish miles an hour. IT IS WAY OFF! I bought a 145 speedo head off ebay a while back.
So is the 5 speed cable causing the problem, or can it be that the head I bought off ebay is 85mph guts with a 145 mph face?
