BW 9 bolt Q&A's :D

here i am again with a 9 bolt situation.

has anyone ever done axle seals on a 9 bolt.

apparently my guess was wrong. and its not held in by C-clips like your generic differentail.

can some one walk me through on this one please?? fluid is pissing out of the left rear seal..

thanks!!

Nothing to it. The seal on the 9 bolt is basically a big O-ring. Take off the four axle flange retainer nuts, slide the axle out, pull the old seal off, slide the new one on, reassemble. The seal should be a common auto parts store item.

You will need a slide hammer and adaptor to take the axles out. Then you will need to have the bearings removed and pressed back on at a shop.
