While adjusting the cruise control switch on the brake pedal I learned that while fixing the cruise control, I also "fixed" the trans dropping into lockup while driving. I've owned the car since it was new and I can only assume that the switch in question was not adjusted properly from the factory so it was never going into lockup all these years. My question is, since this feature of my trans is annoying to me while driving around town but nice on the highway for better gas mileage, can I clip one of the wires on the switch's electrical connection and route it to a toggle switch? This way I can turn lockup off when driving around town, but hit the toggle to turn it back on again when on the highway.
