Install on a TH350
Im installing my new 350 tranny tomorrow. It has a 2900rpm stall. I have a 383 engine with carb. Is there anything I really need to get for this. Like trans cooler, temp guage, anything? Thanks.

Yes there is a few things you will need.
mainly a torque arm adapter kit from summit or jegs, Or if your good with a welder you can fabricate your own. I'm guessing your removing a 700/4L60, You might have a problem in that your drive shaft WILL BE 3 inches too short. I would recommend a tranny cooler expecally with a 2900 stall convertor. Plus you will most likely have to make new tranny lines also. I had to use shifter brackets of an 82 TH200c to get my shifter to hook up to the TH350. 700 brackets wouldn't work. It could have been me though on the brackets.

You will probably need a new detent cable. The part of the cable that goes into the transmission is different on Turbo 350s.

I am doing the same thing Saturday, Here is all the things I intend on having to swap. Flywheel?? (I am not sure I was told yes you do no you dont so I bought one anyhow)I purchased a TH350 with the long tailshaft which is exactly 3/8" shorter than the 700R4 so I will be good to go on the driveshaft. Yes the detent cable are completly different. I have fabricated my own backet for the Torue arm, but I am going to check the tailshafts see what the length difference on the 2 are who knows I may be able to use it. I am not counting on it, but never know. I wish you luck with it think of me as I am doing my Saturday by myself ;-( no one to help oh well, maybe I can get it done faster that way.....
