My rebuilt TH-350 of 8,000 miles went out today....

I took it back to where it was put in, it's out of warranty, and I'm undecided what to do with it. My girlfriends brother just wrecked his 87 Caprice, with a 305, what tranny does this have in it? I know it's got column shift, could this be switched over to console? If it's the TH-350, I'm thinking about getting putting it in, if it's anything else I'll just have mine fixed. Thanks.

I don't know much about Capriceses (Caprii ? ) but if the tranny can be put in an F-body, then as long as you hold onto the linkage from the TH-350 it should work assuming the Caprice didn't have OD.
