Anyone running a T5 with a 383?
I realize dropping the clutch at 5000 rpm isn't good for most trannies but does anyone have a T5 behind a 383 and have good results?

I would say your present motor would be the most I would put in front of a WC T5 but if your going to be taking it to the track a lot like you showed on your web page then it's not going to hold up. I had major problems the first and only time I've ran at the 1/8 mile track (hot and humid FL weather...you thought NC was bad) I was running around a 9 flat to high 8's is what I can estimate since my 1st run I was beat by a guy who ran a 9.3 and the reason he beat me was b/c I missed 3rd...twice! My WC T5 has held up very well to my motor but after the night at the track I wouldn't want to put it on the track many more times for fear of breaking it or the wimpy 10 bolt.
I was talking to a guy today about a 6-speed and he said they are going for around $1000 and he had one in a burnt car for $650 but I don't want to trust it. I am goig to a 6-speed in a year and the best advice I can give you is go to a 6-speed or a Tremec 5-speed if your going to a 383.
