shift knob removal on the 700 r 4

shift **** removal on the 700 r 4

need to remave console. do yo need to remove the **** or do you unbolt the whole stick from its base.

All ypu need is a flathead small screwdriver.... There is a u shaped clip sticking in the front of the ****, facing the radio... Once you pry that out, the **** just slides right off the shaft... (had to replace my console with a 91, so i could have the actual shift indicator, instead of just the lights)

Transmission: WC-T5, WC-T5, 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.45, 3.27, 3.27
Put the transmission in first gear and it will make it much easier to see the small "C" clip you have to remove. It's a piece of cake then. Good luck, Lon.
