They have less than 2000 miles on them. The tranny still performs great, but I'm not getting 1-2 barks like I used to.... it will go slightly sideways at WOT about 50% of the time, but with no audible tire spin. Do auto trannies break in after a little while? It shifted brutally hard for the first few hundred miles, but that's also probably due to the fact that I had the tranny slightly overfilled. Maybe with the fluid at the right level, there isn't as much line pressure as there was before, softening the shifts?

Possibly, but by the sounds of it you like to play around, so something could be little off. Have you adjusted your t.v cable yet. this cable adjust your line pressure and can have positive and negative effects on your shifting. Adjust this cable and try it out.
how do i go about adjusting and testing my tv cable? my tranny never barked on shifts... i have a carbed 350 which i think is capable of at least a small bark or somethin... i also haven't experienced screeching the tires at least half a car's length... what gives? i thought v8's were supposed to do that... i have posi btw... does that have somethin to do with my tranny? it shifts gently and is perfect for normal drivin, i don't have any complaints 'cept that it's too gentle and kind of defeats the purpose of having a 350 cid v8...
I've adjusted the TV cable to be as tight as possible. It has a kink in it though, right where the cable goes into the bracket. This is at least part of my problem, but when the tranny was shifting harder, the TV cable was the same as it is now.
Same thing happened to me. For the first couple of weeks I couldn’t shift into 2nd without chirping the tires, now it only chirps sometimes and only under WOT. I asked the tranny shop that did the install and they said it was normal although they couldn’t give me a reason.
I’ve never adjusted my TV cable because my tranny shop said that it would burn out my tranny. Has anyone ever heard this before?

Mine is doing the same thing I have put about 500 miles on my tranny and was noticing today that it just doesn't shift as hard as it did. The tranny shop said it was normal that the valve body would loosen up just a little bit causing it to shift softer. You could always put in a shift kit and make it firm all the time.
