I lost overdrive

I had overfilled my trans a couple days agoa and I drained it down to where it needs to be. Now I lost overdrive on the way to work this morning. The other gears don't want to shift either. The trans stays in first until 3000 or more rpm when I'm barely giving it gas. Need help quick. I may not have enough fluid now? Could be my throttle cable bracket on the intake manifold?

Re: I lost overdrive

what is this about a TCC lock solenoid? I had a plug near the rear driverrs side of the engine that I couldn't figure out. Could that be my problem? Unfortunately the plug was the first victim of my new headers.

Where was this plug? The TCC solenoid is a square plug that goes into the driver's side of the trans.

If the trans doesnt want to shift, its already trashed. You need it rebuilt. Prepare to spend $1000-1500.

A square 4-prong plug? I got that one put back in. I don't remember a plug on the drivers side of the trans though. The 4-prong plug ended up on the top of the trans if i remeber correctly.

could it be the cable going to the carb? The trans shifts slowly when it shifts.

I also never feel the shift from 1st to second. If I put the shifter on 2nd I go into that gear tho. I'm at 2000 rpm at 60 MPH so I assume that I still have 3rd.

Re: I lost overdrive

could it be low trans fluid? Ihaven't checked the fluid level since the problems started. I didn't have these problems yesterday when my trans was too full

over drive worked on the way to lunch. It won't stay engaged under any load though. Anyone got any ideas.
