What are my choices, rearend slop
What are my choices, rearend slop
I'm having a problem with the rear diff on my 91 z. Sometimes it makes clunking noises at very low speed and when I backup. I took my car in to have the exhaust welded after I replaced my fp. I had the guy check my u-joints and said they looked fine but I have a lot of slop in the rearend. He turned the rear wheel and the diff made a noise. So never having messed with a rearend before I don't know what my options are. Should I just get a new rearend? Do I need a new posi unit? Anyone have experience with this?

the cheapest and easiest way i ithnk would be for you to get a used rear from a salvage yard and swap it your self. draw back to that is you may get differant gear ratios, may lose posi, or get a posi. other option is you can rebuild (or have someone ) rebuild you rear end.
