My trans with 90K miles wont hold 3rd gear at WOT. It is an 89 700R4. 1-2 shifts perfect. Any easy fixes? Vette servo?

Would it be worth it to have someone go in and replace the clutch pack for that 2-3 shift? Otherwise the trans works perfect.

My tranny always had this problem. Had it rebuilt, and it still has this problem. It has 3000 miles on it at this point. The only way around it is to back off the throttle slightly at around 5100 RPM and it will shift, then wait about 5 seconds, and get back on the gas. If I back off and immediately get back on the throttle, it kicks down to 2nd again, and by then it's into the redline.

Mine is worse than yours it seems. I can run it up to the end of 2nd gear (80 or so with 2.73s), and then I have to back out totally. If I floor it again it slips back into 2nd. I can only run about 2/3 throttle in 3rd gear. Can you hold 3rd at WOT once its in 3rd?

EDIT: even after waiting 5 or so seconds It cannot hold 3rd gear.

How can you go to the track like this? Maybe your trans rebuilder didnt replace that clutch pack/
