i just did the switch and used richmond gears. But before i did it my mechanic didnt tell me it would whack out the speedometer, its like 30 mph off, and when it get to 110 which is the limit on the speedometer the computer cuts off the gas.
he said i would have to have my speedometer calibrated and that would fix it.
But is there a special part that i could buy and do it myself or do I need to bring it to a speed shop and have them calibrate it.
any idea what they might charge to do it since the speedometer has no cable its all by computer

Edit: you have an auto and I was referring to a T5. Does your auto have a cable drive speedo or is it electric?

 

I am getting my 3:73 put in right now w/ a shift kit. They are replacing a sensor and a speed gear on mine. So if you want i can try and find out what stuff their using.

Well anyone know what gears to use with 3.23s? I am sure many have made this swap...

 

i dunno if this is the same for your car but i put a rear with 3.42s in my car and all i needed was a different gear in the tail of the trans. But like i said i dunno if this is the same for you.

 

Ok where can I buy these gears anyways. I have to have an accurate speedo, the cops will pull me over and be like

"do you know how fast you were going back there?!?!?"

O well I wont have to lie when I say not sure..lol
