6 speed swap into 91 5speed car

My driver is a 91 rs 305 5 speed. I have a complete 94 z28 lt1 6speed car. I want to put the 6speed into my 91 and need to know which parts to use. I have not disassembled anything as of yet.
Which flywheel do i need to use?
Can I modify 1 of the crossmembers to work?
Which torque am and driveshaft to use?
Which starter to use?
Which clutch set to use?
How do I get my 91 speedo to read correct?
What should I do with the CAGS and reverse lockout?
What is the best aftermarket shifter for the price?
Anyone done this swap and have a thread on it? just tryingto figure out which parts to use before i start tearing apart. Any help is appreciated.

Try doing a search. 3rd gen tranny to t56 has many threads. Here is a link:

Ok I am going to go down the list for you.
- You need the lt1 flywheel, it has a different amount of teeth on it than the t5 flywheel.
- You can modify one of the crossmembers to work, or you can just buy one.
- You use the torque arm and driveshaft from your third gen.
- You need a mini starter or lt1 starter. You may be able to get away with the 305 starter.
- My advise about the clutch, use the lt1 style clutch kit, or buy a highly priced aftermarket one. In this case using the stock lt1 clutch setup will do you just fine.
- You might have to get a new VSS to get it to read right because the pps (pulse per second) of a t56 is diff?
- If you do a search on the forums you can find everything out about the wiring. It has already been covered and in good detail at that.
- I prefer a pro 5.0 shifter.

The site and response covers most of the info I was looking for, thanks. I am basically trying to figure out what to gather first as I am still driving the 91 daily.I was posting from my phone earlier and searches are time consuming from it. Thanks again.

Re: 6 speed swap into 91 5speed car

Thanks for the reply. i am strapped for time and have not touched anything yet, just trying to work out the details so far.
Anyone know which hydraulic setup to use?
Do I use the 91 master to the 94 slave or just fit the entire 94 assy into the 91?
Keep my 91 pedal set as it is?

Re: 6 speed swap into 91 5speed car

The entire 94 assembly
----------
Keep the pedal assembly if your car was originally a 5 speed. If it was an auto, and you put the 3rd gen pedals in sometimes people run into problems, but if it was originally a 5 speed, go with it.
