Pro Built: Is B&M Transpak ok?
Pro Built: Is B&M Transpak ok?
I have used the Transpak (not the Shift IMprover kit but I have used them too) lots of times over the years and seem to have had good results with them, but have not used the Trans Go kit, yet. (ie, good Transpak results in both HD and Street versions of, OR, you get what you expect and I have had no long-term tranny failures for myself or clients)
My question is, would you, a professional, recommend the Trans Go kit over the Transpak and if so, why? How do the shift characteristics compare, if that can be quantified?
Also, whether installing the Transpak OR the Trans Go kit, are there any kit specific parts that are beneficial to those kits that you can recommend, on a per kit basis??? ie, Corvette servo, drilling seperator plate holes differently and/or bigger, etc...???
Oh, I heard from someone that installing a Corvette servo WITH certain shift kits can do more bad than good but I can't remeber what the reason was. (shift overlap, fast/slow band release or something like that) Is this true???

Just to add my two cents, my dad rebuilds GM trans' also, and he uses nothing but the TransGo shift kits.
