Shift Kit for 700r4
I was looking at the Trans-Go shift kit in Summit for the 700 and the B&M transpak. The trans-go is around $130 and the B&M is $52. I know that the trans-go is the better shift kit and they make awesome stuff but does anyone have any comments on the B&M. Is it any good for the $52?...thanks

I got the cheaper B&M shift improver kit. Had it 4+ years without any problems.

I have installed lots of both B&M kits and they are both ok, w/Transpak being a little more "positive"/better. I have not installed any TransGo kits, though, so I cannot comment on them. I actually started a post ("is Transpak comparable to TransGo?) to proBuilt and gonna check now if he answered.

I put in the B&M kit in the '79 T/A I used to have, and it made a very real difference. Improved performance, and even the gas mileage got better.
Worth every penny and then some.

TransGo. B&M is trash, I've heard more horror stories than I can remember. The guy who rebuilt my tranny and installed the shift kit refuses to warranty trannies with B&M kits; that tells you something about their quality. I LOVE my TransGo and wouldn't want it any other way. The 1-2 shift is perfect at part throttle, crisp and quick, and is hard as hell at WOT.... sends the rear of the car sideways when it shifts. And that's with a higher stall converter, which softens the shifts a little. The 700R4 should have come this way from the factory.
