TV cables and quick shifts

Hey guys,
I have had a problem that I thought I had fixed a week ago. I had readjusted my TV cable and it initially worked great. My engine came to life because I finally felt like I was putting that power to the wheels. The shifting was quick and smooth, not too hard. I tapped on the pedal easily and quickly zoomed along. Now, after messing with the TV cable again, I feel like its back to its old tricks again. I readjusted it again, but the shifts are slow and sluggish. I have to mash down on the gas more to get it to move. Its very frustrating and annoying to drive again. My question is should I try to play around with the cable instead of just doing the normal readjustment by mashing on the gas to WOT after moving the cable? Would this cause problems? Thanks guys

I've had the same problem, Red. I had the thing set PERFECTLY, and within 2 days it's back where it was. I'm gonna see if there's some way I can "lock" the thing into position. I guess a bit o' epoxy should do the trick...

i've adjusted my TV cable by hand and not the recommended way. i haven't had my adjustments "loosen up" the way you guys are having. i did notice that the "push button" on the adjuster housing was really, really stiff. perhaps yours is pushing in to be adjusted when you guys are doing it, but it isn't coming out completely to lock in your new settings. make sure the tab comes all the way out when you're done making your adjustment.

i also noticed that doing the procedure the right way puts the "slush" back in slushbox.

I've also had my "minor" adjustments after the "proper" re-adjustment fall out. I imagine the ratchet mechanism on my slider has worn down, after all it looks like it's only plastic, and I assume this is because I always re-adjust the TV once or twice a year.
