PLEASE HELP!!!
PLEASE HELP!!!
OKAY A COUPLE OF NIGHT AGO I REALLY TESTED MY REBUILT 89' 700 R4 AND IT DIDNT PASS THE TEST . THE GOVERNOR IS MESSED UP IN IT ( I SUPPOSE) SO WHEN I AM GOING TO BE RACING I ALWAYS SET IT WHERE IT SHIFTS EARLY COMPARED TO NORMAL OPERATION. MY PROBLEM NOW IS THE TV CABLE HAS NO ADJUSTMENT AT ALL. WHEN I GO TO SET IT CORRECTLY IT IS LOOSE AND DOESNT RACHET AT WOT LIKE IT IS SUPPOSED TO. THE CAR WORKS PERFECT IF I SHIFT MANUALLY, BUT IF NOT I JUMPS FROM OD TO D AND BACK AND FORTH, AND WHEN IT DOWN SHIFTS IT KIND OF FREE SPINS BUT NOT ENTIRELY..WHAT DID I DO AND HOW CAN I FIX IT OR REPLACE IT? SORRY IF MY ? IS VAGUE JUST WRITE ME ?'S
THANKS IN ADVANCE

GMTech help us out here if you can. It sounds to me like you are having the same problem I was. It ended up I had a bad forward sprag. Try racing it out of overdrive and see if it still slips like that. Mine would free spin if I got on it in overdrive and sometimes it would try to grab but wouldn't completely.

Doesn't sound like anything major, just sounds like the cable may be stretched out. I would try a new one. Its about $20.
