Tranny mount ?'s

Hi, like many other people, I have done the 700 to th-350 change. I am successful in every way except for the transmission mount. my th-350 has the 6" tailshaft, and the original 700 tranny crossmemeber(mount) does'nt support it in the right spot. those of you who have done this swap, how did you mount it?? thank you,

I haven't done this to a 3rd gen, but have done similar things and know from my swap experience what can work for you.

You can weld a plate to your existing crossmember to extend the mounting pad under the shorter TH350 mount. Or, you can get a crossmember from an earlier car that had the shorter TH200 tranny, which will bolt into existing holes in your subframe.

Sorry, I let the original crossmember from my '82 go when I had the parts car hauled away.
