Im wanting to order a new ring gear and pinion set for my 92 camaro stock 10 bolt with 2.73(axle code 8HE) gears to 3.73 gears. im ordering from richmond gear in the summit racing catalog. But there are 3 gm 10 bolt sections to choose the 3.73 gears from (7.5in ring gear, 8.2in ring, and 8.5in ring gear. Which size of ring gear do i have so i can order the right 3.73 gears from the correct section any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

7.5" 10-bolt is what came in our cars. Make sure you order the one for the 2.73 carrier.

I have a 92 RS 305 with a 3.73 rear that I changed. I also put an Auburn Pro Series in the rear, boy what a difference!! You will definitely notice an improvement in the performance.

 

Actually its 7.625" but they're interchangeable.

yeah, the '92s had the 7 5/8" with 28 spline axles instead of the earlier (not as good) 7 1/2" and 26 spline axles.
