Gear ratio on 91 Z28
Gear ratio on 91 Z28
Is there a place that I can look up the codes that I find on the rear end? I have two 91 Z28s, one has disc brakes and the other one has drums. The one with drums is the second 91 I have had that had drums on it. I'm parting out the one with drums on it, and people keep asking me what gears it has in it. I'd rather not have to take the cover off if I can avoid it. Is there a definite answer to my question without having to check out the codes? Oh yeah, these all have 5.7 w/TPI.

Uhm... all 91-92 350 Z28's came with disc brakes and 3.23 gears. Someone switched that drum brake rear, or my info is wrong. The drum brake rears were 2.73's in automatics and 3.08 in sticks.

Actually, that's not true. There are exceptions. Take Glenn91GTA's car. A 350 TPI car with rear drums and a single cat. They're out there, and I believe he bought his car new.
