B&M Megashifter
Hey,
I was wondering if any of you has had a problem with the B&M Megashifter shifting hard. At first I thought it was the shaft on the 700r4 (and still could be). But I was talking to someone else and his shifter did the same thing, but he couldn't remember how to fix it. It's so bad when I get it into the ratcheting mode and downshift it jerks the whole console up. Anybody have any ideas??? Thanks

Look in the following post. If you look for where I posted, it should answer you question about the console lifting when downshifting. L8R

I put one in my T/A about 8 mos. ago and have had no problems with it. (other that the handle gets loose)
i found a way to make the console REALLY solid. I took of the ashtray cover and cut out the bottom of the ashtray pocket itself. That gives you a convienient spot to wedge in a compact CB or scanner. (I have a Uniden 510 C.B) The radio's case jams the top of the floor console against the bottom of the stereo console.
I can't complain about the install or the performace of the shifter, though. The only snag I hit was that there is no f-ing slack in the wiring harness to get that relay in. I soldered some extensions on to the wire and managed not to scorch my carpet.
I autocross in the DC area and recently a lot of our courses feature 180 hairpins. You can use the shifter like a poor man's sequential for really fast down shifts.
As far as 'hard' shifts, my 700 has always banged through the gears and the shifter didn't effect it one way or the other
