T-5 to T-56

I have a 1988 Formula 5L/5sp and I want to replace the T-5 with a T-56. I have purchased a T-56 from a 1996 Z-28 that does not include the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, or slave cylinder. The question I have is, can I use the stock 305 flywheel with the T-56 clutch and pressure plate assembly? Do I need to purchase a 1993 and up flywheel?

Any help would be appreciated.

You'll probably find the most help in the tech section, because there is an article written about how to do this swap.

If you are still using the original one piece rear main block, then I would get the flywheel from the 93 and up LT1. It works just fine. If you engine has been changed and is now a two piece rear main block, you will have to order a custom flywheel from someone like Centerforce. They run about $310.00. You will also need the slave cylinder from the 4th gen car. It is different and must be used on the 3rd gen. I used my stock drive shaft at first, the swapped it for an aluminum later. If you have any other questions, just email.
