I pulled the 700R4 out of my old 2.8 before it was towed and was planning on using as a backup for my new '91 with a 305 but I've read on the boards that the bolt patterns are different between the 6's and 8's. If this is true are there any adaptor plates available for this purpose?

If not the tranny'll be up for sale quicktime. Thanks.

V8's are called 90* engines, and the 2.8/3.1L engines are 60* engines. Looking at the bellhousings makes it obvious why they are called that. For that reason, they are not interchangable.

Wether or not they make adapter plates, I don't know, but your best bet is to probably get a V8 tranny
