trans mount???

I broke my 3rd trans mount in 1 1/2 years the other day. I had the others replaced by a mechanic. I want to do this one myself. Is it as easy as pulling up on a ramp (I only have one wooden ramp though but I can reach everything under neath the car fine) and undoing mount bolt and putting the new one in and bolting it up?

It's really easy. Jack the tans take the crossbar nut off then take the trans mount bolts off inbetween the crossbar and trans and it comes right out.

did you have to do anything special to get the SS wheels to fit? Or did they fit right on?

Wooden ramp? That sounds a bit scary... how about jackstands? And how about that indestructible Energy Suspension polyurethane trans mount? I went through 3 in 2 years until I got the ES piece. It's $26 through http://www.summitracing.com , if it's not on their website, give them a call.

You put a piece of wood across the trans pan width-wise, put a jack under that piece of wood, and raise the trans about an inch. The rest is as chris1roc said.

Yeah wooden ramps! I made one out of some long boards that were like 12" wide and stacked them and nailed them together. Its a good ramp. I dont trust metal ramps or jack stands very much. Only made one though.
I was probably going to go with that es mount since everyone has had good luck with it.

chris1roc, I needed spacers for those SS wheels to fit.

I haven't had a chance to fix my mount. An I hurting the car by driving it with the broken mount?
