Impatient and curious
I am having my stock 700R4 transmission rebuilt. I specifically asked them to put the high performance trans go shift kit in there. Wondering if anyone thinks it will chirp the tires going into second. That would be all too cool if it does.

Just my 2 cents, I would go for a corvette servo or a high performance Servo first. They are cheaper then the shift kit, and firm up shifts for real..Im pretty sure that with the shift kit you will chirp second and maybe even third (pending on the shift kit you choose) If thats what you want then youll love just getting that shift kit...
I have the same car with a few different mods, but even stock the thought of haveing the tires break loose around that wet corner (shifting into second or third) is a thought that keeps me up at night.. if ya got a few extra $$$ ask your tranny guy about servos...Good luck dude

I installed a B&M Shift Improver kit (TransGo is much better from what people have told me) and it firmed up the shifts bigtime. You WILL chirp the tires from first to second, it will slam into third but won't chirp them, the shifts might be firmer with the TransGo though, so you might actually chirp into third, who knows. Downshifting is probably one of the best features though, you will be able to downshift on the fly and experience immediate acceleration instead of waiting for the shift (great for overtaking).
As for the governors, I've heard the Corvette's are better but I don't know how performance is improved, but you'll definitely get more mileage out of a Corvetter servo than stock.

when I first got my car it had a rebuilt 700r4 stock, it didn't just chirp 2nd, it fu#%*ng broke loose and busted out a nasty fishtail. It also chirped automatic downshifts. It also down shifted pretty hard during breaking, almost throw your @$$ through the windshield,it was beautiful. I wouldn't worry about chirping gears.
