So what's the deal???

I've heard some people say the a T-5 can't take the power of a 350, some people say it can. I don't want a T-56, WAY too expensive. I was hoping to pick up a used T-5 cheap. The problem is my 350. Is there any way to rebuild it to handle the power? Thanks.

The problem with the t-5's is that the cases stretch between the mainshaft and countershaft causing the gears to mis-mesh. The later WC T-5 use tapered roller bearings on the counter shaft as well as some other updates, so they can handle more power. The T-5 will hold up if you dont abuse it (ie dont dump the clutch @4K, use the clutch, etc). If you get one, I suggest you check all the clearances before installation.

depends on the power of the 350. They can hold L98s, but a super ram with nitrous will grenade it

Is there some sort of race rebuild kit I could buy to make it stronger?
