I went to the junk yard today and found an 86 bird (probably 3.42 gears) that i already began to take apart. when i spin the wheel, it makes a noise like a ratchet wrench, and the other wheel spins in the oppossite direction which is how its suppossed to be, but i don't know about the noise. Is it normal? I don't want to pull the whole rear end only to find out that its bad. Thanks for any help.

Run a best of 16.7 @85mph with traction problem. Have to try again sometime.
