Bad converter or trans failure?
Yesterday when I was going to home, and leaving at trafic lights car didn't move forvard as normaly.Feeling was same as somebody was braking it,and it shakes sametime too.It feels same at first and second gear. When it shifts to third it moves normaly.
When I arrived home and leave car idling at park there is whining noise at transmission(similar as alternator noise at radio)Trans is just rebuild -89 th700r4(last week, since driven~200mi),and converter is -86 "vette" unit(same converter as before trans rebuild).
So is it converter, trans or both???

Re: Bad converter or trans failure?
Torque converters do fail but only under extreme abuse and they still work when they fail. Your rebuilt tranny probably failed.
