rear end install pros and cons...
Hey guys I am building up my 305 to run 9.5s... Maybe lower.
I was considering the following from a local guy..
3.73s-75$
Install 200$
Aurburn USED posi 150$
Speedo gears 70$
total, 495$
I think its not worth my time right now, My LO3 has full exhaust and a open element and a few other things but nothing searious.
For that price I would expect more horsepower, I am getting no HP or Tourque from these mods and Im killing my gas mileage in the mean time.
I think I am going to get LS1 drive shaft, a delete pully and a Cam kit.

Re: rear end install pros and cons...
Speedo gears cost $14 from the dealership. I installed one in my brothers car using a CURB, a 10mm WRENCH, and nothing else, in 12 minutes, in january (canada...) with arthritis. I wouldn't pay ANYONE $75 for that.
I also wouldn't install a used auburn posi. Especially not if it's the stock junker that we have already in our cars. Those break quite easily.... Save up for the aftermarket ones.
The gears sound fair though, <$300 to put in gears is fair game if you don't want to get your hands dirty. Assuming he's replacing bearings (right?!?) that's $100, so $100 for a gear install is pretty good. I'd pay someone that much to save me the hassle...
