I am getting scared,(Please Read)

Ok here is the situation. The other day coming home from school I was driving my car and I decided to pass a few cars on this long straight, So I was passing them casually doing about 90 when I see a car coming so I gun it. My car got up to about 107 and then the transmission sounded like it let go of the gear and it was like it was in Nuetral. So I let off and rolled and then put it in Nutral and then when I slowed down I put it in gear and drove off. Then I noticed when I would accelerate after that, once my car got to about 4000 rpm's it would feel like my car shifted into nutral. I didn't understand but still drove the car. Then the other morning while i was pulling out of an intersection my cars tranny just stopped working, I started to take off, got to about 6 mph and then it felt like it was in nuetral again. Now nothing works on my tranny. I put it in all the different gears and it is like it is in neutral. I smelled the AT fluid and it didnt smell burnt or anything so that is a good sign but I have no clue what it could be. I just hope that it isn't something major.
This is what I have for a car.

ANy help would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Well it sounds like it IS somthing major and it cant be fixed w/out at least taking down the pan. Sounds like your clutches are fryed or it could be a simple as a stuck valve... It is in need of an overhaul though :/

Without really being able to check it out for you, sounds like the pump may have taken a crap.

The reason I say that is, it is definatly RPM related. At 4000 RPM, it goes into nuetral, that means that your clutches are releasing. You may have cavitated air. Once you slow down, you pick up some more fluid and drive off again. Now it doesn't do sqaut, no clutches are applying.

The only other thing that would make it not go anywhere is a broken component in the tranny such as an input shaft, HOWEVER, that fact that it did it at higher speeds, and went away, rules that out. I would be seriously looking at the pump.

I also noticed that I have a little bit of an ATF leak. I don't know if this will help
