I'm thinking of ditching my World Class T-5, and wanting the T-56. How much should I expect to pay for the six speed and what do I need to complete the install into my 90 Iroc? Will the current components work (clutch, clutch pedal, master and slave cylinders)? How much should I expect to spend total on this project?
check out the tech articles on thirdgen.org theres a article that tells everything you need, (and u need alot of stuff from the fourth gen) but it can be done fairly easily.

The swap is real easy if you buy the aftermarket crossmember first. That takes out a lot of the work. You need to swap your third gen slave cylinder with the fouth gen one. (2 bolts and a pin on the clutch lever) and you need to notch the shifter hole back two inches. I also bougth the $80 Cyberdyne box to recalibrate the speedometer.
Make sure to purchase the transmission, with the LT1 flywheel, pressure plate, clutch, pivot arm, bellhousing, slave cyclinder shifter and the tailshaft yoke (longer then T-5). I paid about $1300 six months ago to do the entire swap. That includes upgrading to 3.73 gears.

You'll be lucky to get it done for $1300. Expect an average of about 1500 for the trans with bell housing, flywheel, and clutch setup. Try this place www.hpsalvage.com - They sell with the swapper in mind.
