12 bolt vs Dana 44 vs 9 inch
12 bolt vs Dana 44 vs 9 inch
Which would be better for my 3rd gen. I am planning on 550-750 horsepower. Would a narrowed 12 bolt from a 60s or 70s gm car be okay? Are those c clips in a 12 bolt really that big of a problem? Do Dana 44s have those c clips?

Go with the 9in. Yes, c-clips are bad. 750hp-go with a T400. Cost ~500 for a T400, maybe ~1000 for a 350.

On your last question of c-clips on the dana 44 the answer is no. The dana 44 has bolt in axles with 30 splines on them.
