Help! My 4L60 trans is POSSESSED!!!!
Help! My 4L60 trans is POSSESSED!!!!
Every time I shift into and out of reverse gear, the trans shifts rather harshly making the whole car lurch forward slightly.
Except for reverse gear, all other gears including park shift smoothly when manually selected from a standstill.
I'm thinking it might be a bad reverse gear boost-valve. If it is, do you need any "specialized" tools to R&R the front trans oil pump to access the valve?
The Helms manual states that you need a end-shaft(?) puller and some kind of alignment(?) tool to align the oil pump cover assembly back into the trans when re-assembling. Do you have to be a trans shop to get these tools?
Thanks.

Sounds like your F-body has been f*cking my ex's M*****G. Her POS has the same problem, and I never figured that thing out.
Good luck,
