What to do?
For those who have helped with my previous posts about my T5 and T56 questions or those who haven't but would like to know what's going on with my T5 please take a look at my other posts about my first gear and neutral sounding pretty bad. Well, here's the new question: Should I rebuild the T5 or should I put in an automatic like a TH350? Or would that be stupid and a waste of time? I'd love to put in a T56, but I'd have to sell my original IROC rims or take out a small loan. I don't think the bank will lend me because I have no collateral except for the car. What do you guys think?
Just buy the T56 stuff part by part man. You can save your money and buy it all at once....ugh, that'll take awhile. Or, buy the less expensive things first like the hydraulic system ($120), pedal assembly ($30), shifter ($100), clutch assembly ($320), tranny mount ($20), roller pilot bearing ($15).....you get the idea. Then, you can get the bigger stuff later.
Don't get discouraged.

Well, I found a place called HPSalvage. They're online too, but they sell the T56 with everything you need. Transmission, clutch, master and slave cylinder, etc. All for about $1500. This cost versus $700 for a complete rebuild of the T5. But I'm not sure yet whether or not if I need a rebuild at this point. I have to wait until at least Sunday (That's when I have my last final exam) to get a chance to take the tranny out to see what's making all the noise. If my Grand Am ever sells, I'll have the dough, but who knows?
