how do i know if i have a wc t5?

how do i know if i have a wc t5?

I just bought a t5 How do I know foir sure it is a wc the guy said it is out of a 92 ta. But is looks smaller than my mustang wc t5? Is there any markings or serial numbers to look for Please help Thanks Kevin

Axle/Gears: 12-Bolt 3.73
look on the front of it, where the input shaft is. If there is a large circle to the bottom left of it that has the words TIMKIN written on the edge, its a world class. Also, it has a partial VIN number stamped on the passenger side of it, next to the oil fill hole. It should have an "N" as the second digit if its from a 92.

Thank u very much! I have no reason to believe it is not a wc t5. My friend who is mr mustang man cant handle the fact that the wc t5's put in 3rd gens from the factory. I need to prove it to him. I told him that the mustang also recieved the wc in late 89 but he doesnt believe me. Thank you again Kevin

If it says timkin, its WC?

Woot! That means The One I have sitting In the Garage For the Ranchero is a WCT5, and I got it free!

Actually they were put in all the f-body V8 cars in 1988. My 1988 TA has one and I've re-built it about 4 years ago so I definetly know it is a WC Tranny. The non-WC T5 have different type synchronizers than the WC T5s. Tell that friend of yours to stop trying to find things that are better on the mustang than what came on the f-body cars and live with the fact that f-bodys are BETTER !!
